Kotobuki is a Japanese word which is often used in pleasant occasions. This is a puzzle that I made about this theme of happiness. It was my aim to revive the meanings of two Japanese traditions Kamon and Tsutsugaki and express these positive sentiments.

Kamon is a Japanese crest, all the motifs of Kamon are symbols of happiness. Tsutsugaki dyeing is an artform which has been loved throughout Japanese history for its bold and bright styles. When the forty eight pieces of Kamon are fitted together in the correct position a Chinese phoenix appears at the front, that is one of the happiest motifs.
